Remnants of the Seattle Snow…

All of Seattleites remember that wonderful week in December when we had the unprecedented amount of Seattle snow.  The city was crippled, we all were stranded at home and didn’t go to work for days.

While most the piles of dirty snow in the streets has long melted away in Seattle, this week I found a not-so-cheerful remnant of the Seattle snow…

As the roads were icy, and my tires are practically bald - I didn’t drive my car a whole lot during the snow period - for about 4 weeks in fact.  It just sat there on the street, with piles of snow on top of it.  A few days ago, I finally go to my car to drive it again.  I get in, and there is definitely a strange smell in the car.  I look around, don’t see anything.  No rotting food, nothing spilled, nothing.  Hmm… so I get out and pop open my trunk to find - MOLD INFESTATION.  Yep, it is disgusting, I know.  I am guessing from the snow pile on my car water seeped in and proceeded to sit there in my trunk just molding away for four weeks.  Nice.

I’ve tried to clean it myself, but as we all know - mold is a weird beast.  It just won’t go away.  Like my hamsters I had in 3rd grade, it just multiplies like crazy!    So today, I finally caved in a paid a professional to clean my car for me.  A guy came and picked up my car from work and now I am waiting for him to drop it off (hence all the extra time for Obamicons!) and hopefully it is mold free! At least it better be for what he is charging me.

So… one Seattle snowstorm and $150 later… my car should be back to normal.

I am SO ready for summer.
