For our last dinner in Munich, we asked our concierge for a great place to get duck. I had been craving duck for months now, and being vegetarian (if I can even call myself that now) I only eat meat on special occasions… like when I’m in Europe.
So we went to a great, but touristy restaurant in the Old Town Hall called the Ratskeller that our concierge assured us would have duck on the menu. We even double-checked to make sure they had it earlier in the day, and sure enough - duck was on the menu and looked great. When we got there for dinner, we were told they lost our reservation, awesome. After a bit of shuffling we were seated and ordered a yummy cheese plate to get our meal started. After enjoying the cheese, we then ordered our duck. We couldn’t wait to devour! About 5 minutes later, the waitress comes back says “the duck is gone, no more left” and literally ran off. Awesome. We actually thought about leaving… however at 9 pm and with a flight at 9 am the next morning it just wasn’t a good idea… so we ordered some schnitzel and tried to suppress the duck cravings. Boo.
