The situation of the memorial is very moving. The USS Missouri (which you can see in the upper part of the above photo) is where World War II officially ended as the Japanese surrender was signed on board. The USS Missouri is pointed towards the USS Arizona (which you can see underwater - above), showing the places where World War II started and ended.
