More travel planning progress…

With only a month until our Europe trip (aka: The Magical Mystery Tour) Sarah and I both realized that we need to get on finalizing the rest of our travel plans.  With that in mind, today we purchased our Liverpool to Paris flights.

We purchased the flights on EasyJet, which is one of Europe’s budget airlines based out of London.  Being in the travel industry and being a frequent flier, I am interested to experience how this airline operates so cheaply - so cheap that you could actually buy a flight from Rome to Paris for 1 Euro as once advertised on their site.  To operate like this, they remove such ‘frills’ as window shades, seat pockets, food/drinks and the ability to recline your seat (so they can spend less man hours from cleaners/staff to maintain their planes) and charging a la carte for services such as baggage handling - all making ticket prices lower.

Anyone who’s flown commercially lately can see these trends happening here as well - it is starting small with pay-for-food/drinks/movies, then soon we’ll be on 6 hour flights across the country with no window shades or seat reclines - all in the name of a low ticket price!
