CoffeeShop Madness!

After spending a good portion of my last 5 days working in coffeeshops (I have LOTS at work to do right now) I’ve become even more obsessed with Voxx Coffee by my house, which I mentioned a couple weeks ago.

Today at work I had to escape the distractions of Escapia (ha!) and hunker down over at Tully’s for some free wifi and working. I couldn’t help but compare this place to Voxx, where I’ve found myself alot recently.  First, Tully’s is LOUD!  They play loud annoying non-coffeeshop music.  During the transition between songs on my iPod I can hear Alanis Morrissette, Vanessa Carlton and other top 40’s peeps playing loudly.  I am not saying that I hate these songs, just not the coffeeshop vibe I prefer.  When I am at a coffeeshop I want to hear lounge-y, euro music, not top 40.  Voxx plays this type of music.  Also, at Tully’s I first sat down and could not find an outlet anywhere in sight, I actually had to stalk a guy as I saw him getting ready to leave and steal his table so I could have the outlet, one of the only outlets I saw in this place.  Finally, I am not a big fan of the clientele in this downtown Tully’s, I did just glance over my shoulder and see a homeless man sleeping here, that wouldn’t happen at Voxx!  So here’s the low-down:

Voxx: Great Music     Tully’s: Nope
Voxx: Great coffee    Tully’s: Okay coffee
Voxx: Outlets a plenty! Tully’s: Not so much, one outlet I saw (and snatched up)
Voxx: Open Late (10pm) Tully’s: Closes at 6pm
Voxx: Don’t want coffee? Order wine by the glass!  Tully’s: Coffee or juice.
Voxx: Clientele of social Eastlakers and laptop workers Tully’s: Homeless peeps.

Only drawback with Voxx so far… they don’t allow wine to count for their punchcards - shoot!!
