God Grew Tired of Us.
This was a great movie! It was educational, informative, inspiring, moving, funny, and tear jerking. It gave a really interesting view of the Lost Boys of Sudan and their relocation to the United States to find a better life and help bring awareness and help back to their home country.
I haven’t given much thought as to the vast cultural differences one would experience when moving from a place like Kenya or Sudan to the U.S. Turning on the lights, eating Ritz crackers, sleeping in a bed, seeing a Christmas tree, going to to the grocery store- these are all experiences that are absolutely mind boggling to these Lost Boys of Sudan. Brian and I kept discussing how crazy it would be to live starving in Africa your whole life, then later find yourself in the setting of an American grocery store where there is enough food readily available to feed a village.
