Ready for Rum Run!!
Saturday’s Rum Run race proved that we are NOT fair weather sailors. We sailed over to Bainbridge Island in the rain, 30 knot winds and 4 feet waves. Luckily, we had this ridiculous boat - Sound Effect - a 38.5’ DuFour. It was luxurious to say the least. It had two steering wheels, because one is just not enough.
Even though we started the race about 3 minutes late, we ended up passing about 4 people and didn’t come in last! We were ecstatic. We even won the black duck!
