On Sunday we had brunch at the Boat Street Kitchen. We read tons of great reviews about it, so we were really excited to go. This place was so close to being great, but just not quite there for me. It had a great ambiance - we sat outside in the little outdoor foyer…
And, it had a great menu - I had the chevre & artichoke eggs benedict….
While the ambiance was perfect and the menu was great, I left with a sort of sour feeling since our waiter basically disappeared for the last 20 minutes after we finished our meal - during which we were desperate for our check so we could get going to the wedding we were headed to. Our waiter seriously never came back to give our check - we had to flag down another waiter to get it and were almost late for the wedding. I was not happy leaving there. :(
Funny how the last impression is the lasting impression, huh?
I’ll probably try this place again sometime when I have nothing else on my Sunday docket, and would recommend it to peeps who have a good couple hours for a tasty brunch - the staff is definitely NOT in a hurry here!
