Getting our Sea Legs.

Photobucket

Diggy and Jason rented an adorable 26’ sailboat.  This was our first time renting a boat where we had no ‘real’ experienced skipper along with us.  Although Jason is currently taking sailing classes, we found we hadn’t quite fully gotten our sea legs just yet.

After getting out on the Sound from Shilshole Harbor, we had a few, um, complications with our mainsail.  After we all had a coloborative panic attack, we decided to relax and start over again with the sail.  Sure enough, we got the problem figured out and away we went.  We then had more ‘complications’ with our jib sail.  Queue another coloborative panic attack.  Finally after about an hour after we left the bay and we were all ready to sail.

The above picture is a reenactment, and sadly not a joke. We had the instruction book out the entire time! Oh, beginning sailors.
