Since the move to San Francisco one of our favorite hobbies, sailing, has been missing from our lives.  And given that San Francisco is one of the best places in the world to sail -it’s been quite painful to not to be sailing here.
Luckily, this weekend we get to put an end to our sailing hiatus.  We recently invested ourselves in what I like to describe as a ‘boat timeshare.’  It made sense for us since moorage here in San Fran is SO expensive.  We share a gorgeous 34’ Catalina with a handful of other people.  And best of all, we never have to do any maintenance - which in my eyes would be the worst part of owning a boat. Cleaning boat heads is just not my style. This weekend we’re doing two days of training to get used to the boat.  We could not be more excited! To top it off - San Fran is continuing to spoil us with this Spring-like weather through the weekend so we’ll be sailing in sunshine and 70 degrees - perfection!

Absolutely loving the Starbucks Mobile payment app. Now I can pay for my coffee using my iPhone.  This totally feels like the future - I look forward to a world where I don’t need to carry my wallet anymore - just my phone.
I also love that I can still see my beloved Paul when I pay via this app! :)

Happy New Year - Twenty Eleven!

Looking back on the past year, I initially think of all the wonderful things that have happened.  I got engaged to my best friend, I turned 30, I moved to San Francisco, I got my dream job, we took some amazing and wonderful trips, and most recently we got our dream kitty! However, I’m also instantly reminded of the ‘other’ side of 2010 - I lost my mom, Kevin lost his father, and we left our friends and comfort zone in Seattle.

2010 was definitely the year of change.  In that light, I am looking forward to 2011 being a year of settling in.  Settling in to a new home, new city, new job, new family, new marriage - so very much to get used to.  Bring it on, 2011!
