Little reflection...
After the concert with the girls followed by a post-concert ice cream treat stop, I walked home from Jamie’s. It was still warm out with a nice breeze that had that wonderful Seattle-sea smell. I was sort of half-dancing half-walking and humming “Closer to Fine” (yes, I know if someone saw me they’d think I was a huge loser). As I was doing this I was reflecting on just...
What a difference a year makes!
Tonight the girls and I went to the Indigo Girls concert at the zoo… our annual tradition. I’ve gone the last three years, Jamie has the record with going the last 4 years. We just love that lesbian duo!
We kept laughing at how different this year’s concert was than last year’s. Last year it was maybe 45 degrees in mid-June for the concert. Last year it was rainy, and...
Setting the Day on Perfect: Part Deux.
Yikes - another fabulous, sunny, hot Walla Walla day. Not a cloud in the sky (yet again). Laura and I went for a great walk this morning then came back to the house to lay by the pool with Michelle, Kristen, and Courtney. It was so hot out and so perfect in the pool - perfection!
Setting the day on perfect.
Laying by the pool with Courtney, soaking up the sun, feeling the 90 degree heat, flipping through my yearbook and reading the funny things people wrote. Somebody set the day on perfect.
You Know You're Old When...
You book a mini-vacation by yourself!
I’ve never vacationed by myself before and I am randomly so excited. We’re going to Palm Springs for work in mid-July (when it’s 120 degrees - bring on the heat!). My mini-vacation involves staying for a couple days after my co-workers leave to get some sun, hang out, read a lot and do a little soul searching with a nice backdrop of palm...
Oh my God, I am SOOOO excited to cut your hair!
– Stephen (again), my very un-gay, ex-Navy, tattoed-up stylist. This quote seemed just weird coming from him.
No way, your hair is NOT Strawberry Blonde - it’s more like Tangerine...
– Stephen, my hair stylist, debating the color of my hair with me today. I am wondering if Tangerine Blonde is an actual color.
Worthless Trivia for Your Inbox... Loves it!
Kevin introduced me to Xobni, which is sort of a search/organization/analytics for your Outlook inbox. I am already obsessed! After downloading, it took a few minutes to index my mail, it started feeding me the most random trivia from my inbox. See below…
I am loving this useless inbox trivia! It also lists your top email contacts - it is funny to see that my boss, John, and I have...
Cold Calling for Dates - Wierd?
So an odd situation happened to me yesterday, at least I thought it was odd. I need some feedback.
I got a phone call - at work - from a random guy that I met last week at a networking function. Apparently he thought we ‘hit it off’ (I disagree, I couldn’t remember who he was) and called me - at work - to ask me out. Being an incredibly awkward person already, I got really...
Kris' 2nd Favorite Seattle Sandie
I like sandwiches (maybe not as much as Joey on Friends, but I do enjoy them). I’ve recently started keeping tabs on my favorite Seattle sandwiches and until today I only had one on my list: the Field Roast Sandwich from FareStart - ridiculously good btw.
Today we went to the Virginia Inn for lunch, which in itself is a great place. Feels kinda Euro with their outdoor seating and the...
Our newest trend in sailing, riding on the bow and ducking under the sail when we tack. This is by far the funnest place on the boat!
I won't lie...
I am somewhat obsessed with my new Tumblr theme. Maybe I’ll actually keep this theme longer than 2 months (unlike my previous themes!).
Thank you: http://freethemes.tumblr.com/. :)

Quiara...
I have to just do a little shout-out to my 14 year old niece, Quiara.
This girl is so amazing it blows my mind. She called me yesterday from the SeaTac airport as she was on her way to California to attend the David Beckham Soccer Academy. She came across this academy around Christmas-time and decided it was something she’d like to do. She then raised money on her own so she could go (it...
Great summary of random Solstice Day...
Kevin made a great summary of Solstice:
The day had a little of everything didn’t it? Worst cab driver ever, mimosas, naked people, beer, live R&B, a circus, palm reading, pink koolaid, Cuban-American harassment, 5 bars, 2 beer gardens, good conversation of all types, booth dancing to Journey, and one pissed off cab driver. All in just 15 hours, and fueled by nothing but tots and beer!!!!
...
Happy Solstice!
Sitting on Diggy’s deck, looking at Lake Union and the boats, sipping on a mojito - summer is officially here!
Vegan Wonderland!
So being that I am detoxing right now with two of my best friends, we of course wanted to make it fun and cook a huge vegan dinner together. I found a great recipe for us out of ‘Skinny Bitch in the Kitch’ (I know - awesome name, right?). We decided to cook ‘Veggie Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes & Gravy.’ I LOVE meatloaf, and being vegetarian for the past 2+ years...
My Boom...
Today for lunch Bryan and I went to Boom Noodle on Capital Hill… so good! We went based on a review in the Seattle Times that he read a few months ago and has been dying to try it ever since. The food was great, but what stuck with me was the name… here is the explanation of their name:
Hard to read, but is says “In Japan today there is a popular term “my boom”...
Favorite new tool...
So do you ever have problems with something, namely a website not working.. maybe you think it’s you, maybe your computer, maybe your network??
http://summize.com. This site has quickly become my new ‘go-to’ when I have a question about something… What it does is search through Twitter posts for a certain word. So you can see if others have posted about what...

I love seeing start-up companies make great leaps and progress, especially when it’s the company of a great friend.
A Day Without Blogging?
I really thought about not blogging. I’m just not feeling it today. However, I did make a vow to myself that I’d at least write what I did each day as this is my ‘online journal’ of sorts. So here it goes…
-Work -Lunch with Mike, Devin, and Devin’s parents at Lola. It was so great to finally meet them and put faces to Devin’s funny stories about them....
