Because I am a huge nerd, I might a little map of our trip route… We got in so much great sailing and saw so many fantastic places! I already can’t wait for next summer’s trip.
Our last night, Thursday, was spent at one of my favorite places - Rosario. We had our first mooring buoy experience - look how cute our boat Sea Eagle is on the little buoy!
We loved our last day there before we had to head back to Bellingham the next day. We swam in the marina pool, ate dinner at the resort and enjoyed some after-dinner wine back at the boat. Perfection! It was also great...
On Wednesday we found ourselves on Jones Island. We initially just stopped to do a hike around the island, but it was so wonderful there we ended up staying the whole night! We bbq-ed, went crabbing and just all around LOVED Jones Island. Here is Kevin in front of our cutie boat on the dock at Jones…
After having an overly exciting Monday on the water while whale watching in 30 knot winds… Sarah and I were rewarded the next day with lots of sun - but not so much wind. You win some, you lose some!
After dropping Sake Bomb off at the Orcas Island ferry, Kevin and I headed to Lopez to stay the night at Fisherman’s Bay - the most challenging little marina to get to. We put our...
After picking up Sake Bomb, we stayed in cute little Roche Harbor (aka: our wedding venue!!).
On Monday we headed out to do some whale watching on Haro Strait. We were greeted with 30 knot winds which resulted in two very uncomfortable girls and two boys having the time of their lives. We saw lots of orcas so I suppose it was all worth it!
After staying the night at Sucia Island, we headed down to Friday Harbor to pick up Sarah & Jake (aka: Sake Bomb!)
On the way from Bellingham to Sucia Island!
30th Birthday - Party 3 of 3...
For my final birthday party on my actual birthday, we had a little mini Duck Dodge birthday celebration. I was so stoked that my birthday actually fell on a Duck Dodge sailing race, which is pretty much my favorite summer activity. Most Duck Dodges have a theme and this theme was ‘80’s Night’ which was perfect for a birthday girl born in the 80’s!
Birthday girl on the...
30th Birthday - Party 2 of 3...
For my birthday dinner Kevin took me to Maximilien, a cute little French restaurant in Pike Place Market. We had oysters, escargot, champers, Bordeaux, canard, boeuf, creme brulee - pretty much everything that a girl obsessed with all things French loves!
4th of July in Seattle - Not Quite Summer...
Well the usual gripe of Seattleites that ‘summer doesn’t start until after the 4th of July’ was VERY true this year. This year’s 4th of July was filled with promise - we were boating out on the lake ready to swim and enjoy being in Seattle. However our little city had other plans. Long story short - it was gloomy, then sunny, then drizzly, then DOWNPOUR, then drizzly,...
30th Birthday - Party 1 of 3...
Normally I am a person who plays down my birthday. I intentionally tell people not to do anything, I don’t let anyone at work know… and I end up feeling terrible every year! This year, mainly because I have the most wonderful fiance ever, I did the exact opposite. I had TWO parties and a wonderful dinner out. If you’re going to go all out for a birthday it might as well be...
Patriotic Cupcakes
I usually leave the cupcakes to my girl Jamie, but I couldn’t resist when I had an idea for patriotic cupcakes and multiple 4th of July occasions to bake them for! I’ve already made two batches of these cupcakes, one for a red/white/blue themed Duck Dodge and one for a 4th of July feast at my office today.
For the cupcakes, I made a white batter and then divided the batter into three...

Lots to look forward to...
I can’t stop thinking about all the fun activities coming up over the next few weeks!
First, one of my favorite holidays is coming up - Fourth of July! My preferred way to spend the fourth is floating around Lake Washington and soaking up the sunshine, followed by watching the fireworks show in Lake Union. Which, thankfully, was saved due to a handful of Seattle donors.
Second, my...
Ahh... Summer Sailing. Well, at least for one...
The summer sailing season is finally here! The wonderful time when Seattleites can actually go out on a boat without wear puffy jackets and gore-tex. We had our first summer-esque weekend and luckily were able to take advantage of it by going sailing both days. On Saturday, we helped crew a friend’s boat, Discovery, for the Leukemia Cup regatta. Although we pretty much came in dead last,...
WOW. This sneak peek of the Glee finale is just ah-mazing. I cannot wait!! What a perfect song pick for regionals.

Memorial Weekend was full of surprises… lots of rain, clouds and wind! Nonetheless Memorial Day weekend also had some nice surprises up its sleeve… some excellent sailing, unexpected fabulous restaurants and a great weekend with friends.
We also helped Diggy & Ryan christen Ryan’s boat on Saturday (video above). They officially de-named her last week (RIP, Lily) and we had...

Krevino hitting the shelves...
Well, OUR shelf! Last week our long awaited case of Krevino finally arrived! After spending an evening blending our wine with our friends Adam & Ammi and then making our label - we finally have our case of Kevino in hand…
We haven’t tried it yet - but plan to have bring our first bottle to share on this weekend’s sailing trip to Port Ludlow!
Walla Walla Winos: The 2010 Edition
Spring Release Wine Weekend is a very special time of year in Walla Walla. It’s when the first releases of new vintages are available for tasting and many wineries that aren’t open to the public open up for the weekend. Lots of cheese and hors d’oeuvres are served, live music is played and… we all get really, really drunk on wine. But for some reason getting drunk on...

Weekends sans pictures...
I’ve been a horrible photographer lately. I really wanted to do a blog post recap of my weekend, but realized I had no pictures to show for it, which makes my post rather un-interesting. In this case, I’ll keep it short. Over the weekend I… attended my friend Jamie’s 30th birthday party at glassbaby (cute photo here). Saturday, we met up with my dad who was in town for...
Day of Free Food!
Tomorrow may be tax day, but the silver lining is that it is the day of free food!
Start out your day with a free coffee when you bring in your own coffee tumbler to Starbucks. Next, for lunch head to your local Taco Del Mar for a free taco!
Yum and yum.

What's making me happy today.
This is.
Clicking this above link will transport you to Paris. And turn your speakers on… just a little. Not enough to get looks from your cubicle neighbor but just enough to hear that wonderful Frenchy music.
I’ve been craving Paris lately. I haven’t been in almost two years (I know - wah, wah). But I feel like Paris has a little piece of my heart. Even if sometimes it...
Venues - The Search has Begun!
Over the weekend, we took our first few visits to some possible reception venues! It was a great start. The best part for me is that Kevin and I are on the EXACT same page with what we like and what we don’t. I can imagine that not being on the same page could be a frustrating start of wedding planning! As I’ve mentioned, we both want a water/boaty venue or a winery. So naturally the...
Venues, venues!
While we haven’t yet settled on an exact date or venue just yet, Kevin and I are aiming for a Summer 2011 wedding celebration in the Seattle area (or thereabouts). We have both gotten excited about searching for that perfect venue. My heart naturally gravitates towards a waterfront/boaty venue or a winery venue - we all know I like wine and boats!
Anyone have any great suggestions for me...
